No Residue Shampoo- Neutrogena: Other Reviews

“I’ve tried a million clarifying shampoos at all varying price points. This dirt cheap Neutrogena Anti-Residue is the best of the bunch, and I come crawling back every time. Due to this there’s some pretty pricey stuff collecting dust in my bathroom cabinet (Aveda Rosemary Mint, BB Sunday Shampoo, Paul Mitchell Clarifying No.03, etc) . I realized at the end of the day the bells and whistles aren’t necessary, and can even take away from the whole point of clarifying. Neutrogena really got it right with this one. Clean is clean! And that’s all a clarifying shampoo needs to do. A dime size amount at my roots being allowed to spread evenly down the lengths as it rinses is all it takes to achieve that that excellent, squeaky clean, “blank slate” hair feeling that us leave-in product junkies oh so crave! A final thought…I’m not trying to be argumentative, but reviewers who complain that this dried out their hair to a major extent (no offense) probably did not need a purifying wash in the first place. If your hair cannot take any drying out than do not use this and do not strip the oils off your hair with clarifying! It pains me to see people say a product works poorly when its almost certainly that they didn’t need the product, or they used it oddly (like working it into a ferocious lather or massaging into the ends, as you should not do). This probably sounds so salty lol.”

“This is a fantastic product! I’m so happy that I stumbled across this while I was browsing the drug store. This shampoo is so unique, and I’m honestly shocked that I haven’t seen something like this before. This is a must-have product for anyone who uses a lot of product in their hair. It was specifically formulated to remove the buildup of product from your scalp and hair. It’s meant to be used once a week to deep cleanse your hair. You use this instead of your regular every day shampoo. I have very fine and thin hair, so I only wash my hair once or twice a week. If I wash my hair any more than that, it becomes a frizzy and dry mess. So in-between washings, I live on dry shampoo, which means I get a ton of buildup of it on my scalp and around my roots. This shampoo seriously works wonders. It cleanses away all the dirt, grime and product buildup without stripping your hair. I use this only when I feel that I need it, which is usually only once or twice a month. One bottle lasts me quite a while. This is meant for every hair type, and it’s also safe for dyed hair. If you’re a dry shampoo fanatic like myself, I would recommend looking giving this a try. You’ll see the difference in your hair and scalp, and fall in love with this too!”

“This is a great shampoo for doing what it’s supposed to do, clarify. I use this about once a month to clarify my hair and get rid of the silicone build-up. Once my hair starts feeling/looking fried and losing its waves, that’s when I know it’s time to bust out this anti-residue shampoo. I usually follow this up with a non-silicone deep conditioner to help add moisture back into my hair as well. I’ve never tried using this shampoo on its own and I don’t think I’d ever want to because it definitely doesn’t feel moisturizing. My hair feels kind of soft but like straw at the same time when I’m rinsing this out. I definitely don’t like the smell, but I’m usually covering this up with deep conditioner after so it’s not a huge deal. A little bit goes a long way with this shampoo and for only using it once a month, it’s been lasting me a looooong time. “
